ParliamentXR

Parliament XR is a mobile application developed by the Clerk and Parliamentary Service. While using Parliament XR, the Clerk and Parliamentary Service and Parliament XR developers Maggle Limited (“we”) collect information based on user interaction to improve application performance and user engagement.

Information we collect when you use Parliament XR

While Parliament XR is in use, we collect information on the content you interact with and the duration of application activity. Activity information that is collected using Parliament XR:

How many times each button is activated
Duration of video playback
What buttons and links that have been clicked on
Application performance - including application crashes and interruptions
Information about your device operating system
What country you reside in

How we use the information we collect

We use the information we collect to give us feedback on application performance, to improve the content available within the application. We may pass this information on to a third party in order to improve the content or the mobile application. We do not collect personal identifying information or share any information with third parties that does not explicitly relate to a collaboration or content hosted by the third party.

Access to and correction of personal information

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or have it corrected, please contact us in writing on email at parliament.website@parliament.govt.nz

Application of the Privacy Act 1993

Personal information held by the Office of the Clerk is subject to the requirements of the Privacy Act 1993. The Parliamentary Service is only subject to the Privacy Act 1993 in relation to personal information that it holds about its employees and former employees. However, the Parliamentary Service has developed specific policies to address the release of information. Under these policies data collected will not be disclosed to a third party, unless such disclosure is authorised by law.

Updates/changes

This document is updated regularly and as necessary as Parliament XR features are updated and new content is added. Updates to this document will be advised when the app is updated or through in app notifications.
