Terms of Service
Use of the ParliamentXR app is subject to the below terms of service.
Parliament XR
General

To use the ParliamentXR app the User (“you”) agrees to the terms set out in this agreement.

You agree that the features and content of the ParliamentXR app may change without prior notice - including patch updates, bug fixes, revised user interface and interactable buttons and content. You agree to updates install automatically to your smart device/VR headset.

You agree that augmented / virtual reality content hosted in the ParliamentXR app, may be temporarily or permanently unavailable, without prior notice to you. You may also experience limited access to the ParliamentXR app features during periods of scheduled maintenance and updates.
Usage

You agree that you are responsible for maintaining all mobile/smart devices/VR headsets and telecommunications services required for installation and operation of the ParliamentXR app. You agree that you are liable for any charges or costs (including data charges) while using the ParliamentXR app and services.

Use of the ParliamentXR mobile app requires access to your smart device camera - to track spatial planes for augmented reality.
Intellectual Property and Licensing

The ParliamentXR application is developed for the NZ Parliament and maintained by Maggle Creative. All trademarks, logos, graphics, animations, assets and models are unregistered or registered trademarks of the New Zealand Parliament or have licensing permission by third party organisations.

Using the ParliamentXR app provides you with a single user, non-assignable, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to view and interact with the with the augmented / virtual reality content provided by ParliamentXR, subject to adhering to the following conditions:

The ParliamentXR app is accessed using your own VR headset / mobile device or with explicit permission to use another device

Any content, graphics, VR/AR experience or ParliamentXR branding must not be reproduced or included in any work or publication without prior written consent.

Content must not be altered or modified in any way or used in any other medium deriving from the ParliamentXR VR/AR content or interactions.

Content must not be distributed, sold or leased to any third party.

The user must not reverse engineer, disassemble or attempt to extract any content in the ParliamentXR app.

Disclaimers
ParliamentXR takes due care in providing virtual / augmented reality content and services through the ParliamentXR app. As part of the development of the ParliamentXR app services the following apply:

We cannot guarantee that all services and content in the ParliamentXR app will be uninterrupted or error free.

You are responsible for taking precautions to protect yourself, your VR headsets / smart devices and computer systems from viruses and other harmful and destructive applications.

User Warranties
As part of your agreement to these terms of service, you agree that:

You will only use the ParliamentXR app in accordance with the terms of service set out in this agreement and all applicable laws and regulations.

You will not infringe on the intellectual property rights or any other rights of an individual or third party set out in this agreement.

Indemnity and Liability

You agree that you shall indemnify and hold harmless the NZ Parliament and the ParliamentXR app together with our employees, officers, contractors and third party licensors from and against any and all losses, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, damages, costs and expenses (including court costs and legal fees) whether direct, indirect or consequential and including any economic loss or other loss of profits.

You agree to indemnify the NZ Parliament and the ParliamentXR app services for any loss, damage, cost or expense that may be incurred as a result of your use of the ParliamentXR app services, including any breach of these terms and conditions.
Notice for amendments to this agreement
This “Terms of Use” agreement is updated to reflect new features, systems and content on this page. Notices to advise of any updates or changes to this agreement are posted with in-app notifications.

Privacy Policy
Parliament XR is an application developed by the Clerk and Parliamentary Service. While using Parliament XR, the Clerk and Parliamentary Service and Parliament XR developers Maggle Limited (“we”) collect information based on user interaction to improve application performance and user engagement.
Information we collect when you use Parliament XR
While Parliament XR is in use, we collect information on the content you interact with and the duration of application activity. Activity information that is collected using Parliament XR:

How many times each button is activated

Duration of video playback

What buttons and links that have been clicked on

Application performance - including application crashes and interruptions

Information about your device operating system

What country you reside in
How we use the information we collect
We use the information we collect to give us feedback on application performance, to improve the content available within the application. We may pass this information on to a third party in order to improve the content or the mobile application. We do not collect personal identifying information or share any information with third parties that does not explicitly relate to a collaboration or content hosted by the third party.
Access to and correction of personal information
You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or have it corrected, please contact us in writing on email at parliament.website@parliament.govt.nz
Application of the Privacy Act 1993
Personal information held by the Office of the Clerk is subject to the requirements of the Privacy Act 1993. The Parliamentary Service is only subject to the Privacy Act 1993 in relation to personal information that it holds about its employees and former employees. However, the Parliamentary Service has developed specific policies to address the release of information. Under these policies data collected will not be disclosed to a third party, unless such disclosure is authorised by law.
Updates/changes
This document is updated regularly and as necessary as Parliament XR features are updated and new content is added. Updates to this document will be advised when the app is updated or through in app notifications.
